1
Safety
"Safety is not the absence of threat, it is the presence of connection." -Gabor Mate

We must continue to focus on safety as a core value that is inherent and sacrosanct, not as a priority that can be compromised for convenience or other short-term gains.
In order for students to be academically engaged, they have to feel an emotional connection to their school. We need to examine our schools in terms of both physical and emotional safety.
2
Fiscal Responsibility
We need to look for ways to remove ourselves from a deficit budget. The District has an award winning Finance Department, but they need our help to create realistic solutions to sustain the district long term. This need was at the forefront of my mind when selecting our current Superintendent.
We must work together to implement sustainable solutions while including citizen input.

Student Outcomes
We continue to grapple with the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic and the after-effects on our students' academic performance. Pflugerville ISD should meet or exceed the academic performance at the regional and state level.
I believe we need to continue to invest in our Career & Technical Education Programs so our students are able to graduate with skills that are well developed for employment.

Staff Retention
While beginning teachers earn competitive compensation in order to recruit them compared to area districts, we must look at ways to retain those teachers and maintain a competitive pay scale as their years of service increase. We also must look at increased training and career development opportunities for our staff.

Equity & Inclusion
ALL children in Texas have a right to a quality public education, according to the Texas Constitution. We must continue to raise the bar in meeting the needs of the diverse learners in our district.
All students should feel welcome in school, with curriculum that is flexible, creative, and relevant. We must continue to delegate our resources so that all learners are supported and able to succeed.
